Rather than documenting the disaster itself, this collection records the landscapes, towns, and people rebuilding their everyday lives.

Beginning in Sendai, the journey follows the Pacific coast through Miyagi and Iwate before continuing north to Aomori. From Cape Tappi, the route turns south along the Sea of Japan, ending among the historic warehouses of Sakata in Yamagata.

Along the way, the photographs capture rebuilt towns, temporary housing, abandoned railway lines, seawalls, quiet fishing ports, dramatic coastlines, and places where history and recovery continue side by side.

Through 93 carefully selected photographs, this collection preserves a moment in time when Tohoku was moving forward while still carrying the memory of what had been lost.
